Firstly, we would like to thank the volunteers who have offered to bake and help on the day. We are hoping a few others may be able to help.
We are holding our first post lockdown Refreshment Day at St Peter’s Church this Saturday 18th from 10am until 4pm In order to make it a success, we desperately need your help to bake cakes/scones and/or provide hands-on help in the church. We sell a range of freshly made cakes and scones (made by our volunteers) along with sandwiches, soup and refreshments etc. Whilst our Refreshment Days generally prove popular, any food left over is given to the homeless.
Help needed in the church ranges from serving customers and preparing food/refreshments to general tidying up and clearing tables. The day can be a lot of fun and is a great way to engage with our local community and your fellow volunteers as well as raising much needed funds. Our last refreshment day was a big success and raised approximately £750 and whatever we can raise with this event will help enormously in allowing us to meet the significant increase in demand we have seen over the last 18 months. If you are able to provide a cake and/or scones and/or spare a couple of hours to help that would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for everything you already do for SOP and we hope you can spare a little extra time baking and/or helping out to make this event another big success!
